What makes Cl2 calibration tricky
Chlorine is reactive, which means calibration gas handling matters. Cylinder-based chlorine calibration gas can be inconsistent near the end of a cylinder's life as concentration shifts, which is part of why an on-demand source — generated fresh at the point of use — tends to produce more consistent results.
Calibration tips
- Calibrate at a concentration close to your actual alarm threshold for the most relevant accuracy.
- Check regulator and fitting condition before each calibration — chlorine is more reactive with worn components than inert gases.
