Hydrogen Chloride or HCl is an acidic gas used in the production of the liquid reagent HCl. The industrial applications of this gas include the rubber and tire industry, and in the production of vinyl and alkyl chlorides. It's widely used in the semiconductor industry to etch wafers and purify silicon, and in the clothing industry to separate wool from cotton.
